METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING POWER Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2005906 C1

FIELD: wind power. SUBSTANCE: vanes of turbine provided with a shaft is directly effected by water and wind streams simultaneously or by water stream only for rotating the turbine in one direction. The vanes of the turbine undergo wind stream or wave power. To implement the method the turbine with vanes is set in the stream on vertical shaft. Shaft of a generator is coupled with shaft of the turbine. A wall of a guide casing, which is parallel to the turbine axis, is provided with outlet opening. Bottom edge of the guide casing is located at a level of water surface. The apparatus is fixed to the bottom of a reservoir and provided with a platform with jacks. Shafts of the turbine and generator are interconnected with a coupling. The guide casing is rigidly secured to the platform. The outlet opening is made in top wall of the guide casing which is perpendicular to the platform. There are additional inlet openings in the top wall from the side of the inlet opening and in side walls perpendicular to axis of the turbine. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. 3 cl, 8 dwg
