FIELD: electromechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: commutator and brush gear assembly of electrical machine has cylindrical commutator 1, brush 2 which is essentially disk fixed on shaft 3, antifriction bearings 4 and 5 fitted on ends of shaft 3, two brackets 6 and 7 of brush holder 8, each provided with radial slot of cross-section which accommodates one end of shaft 3 with bearing 4 or 5 mounted for radial displacement towards commutator 1 in case of wear of brush 2 and one of two cylindrical hold-down springs 9 or 10 one of whose ends is joined with base of bracket 6 or 7 and its other end rests on outer ring of bearing 4 or 5. EFFECT: enlarged service life of brush due to replacement of its sliding friction over commutator by rolling friction. 3 dwg
