FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: capacitive device for measurement of diameter of fiber has two identically built differential instrument capacitors including central grounded screen with two low-potential electrodes anchored inside it on insulators and designed for measurement of diameter and current coordinates. On both sides of it high-potential electrodes are attached on ceramic insulators. Length of each of them exceeds at least two times value of gap between them and plane of low-potential electrodes. Lateral edges of both low-potential electrodes are rounded over shape of line of like potential. Both capacitors are located mutually orthogonal with reference to fiber passing through centers of their measurement zones. EFFECT: increased accuracy and expanded functional capabilities of capacitive device due to measurement of its ellipticity and due to reception of information on current coordinates of fiber. 2 cl, 2 dwg
