FIELD: nondestructive material testing. SUBSTANCE: ultrasonic control apparatus for testing cylindrical articles has self-propelled carriage made in the form of bearing frame mounted on magnetic wheels and provided with telescopic arm consisting of rotary section with its drive and extension sections telescoping from the rotary section and carrying pivotally connected transducers. Assembled telescopic arm sections are mounted in the center of bearing frame symmetrically with rotary section axis. U-shaped extending sections are inserted one into other to form box. All sections are interconnected by means of gear wheel secured in central portion of section extending directly from rotary section. Telescoping drive is secured on side wall of rotary section so that their axes are perpendicular to each other. EFFECT: improved reliability of checks performed in constricted places, for example narrow ring-shaped tunnels closed from top by cover with holes for placing transducers. 6 dwg
