FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: process of testing of materials for crack resistance under cyclic twist includes operations of application of torque to sample of material and of registration of injuries of material by which torque and stress intensity factor are determined. Novelty of invention consists in the approach when sample is loaded under constant torsion angle with active gripping of its end and parameter of its resistance to action of load is determined by measurement of movement angles of end of sample fixed in passive gripping. Degree of injury is judged by specified parameter found from relationship given in description of invention. EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability of testing. 2 dwg
