SUBSTANCE: in hydraulic hammer possibility of striker impacts against end face cover of its body in case of changes in external loading conditions is avoided by selecting proper relation of geometrical dimensions of striker and working cylinder so that increase of striker speed during its idle upward travel in excess of rated value results in discharge of hydraulic accumulator of delivery line to the level, which ensures idle stroke of the next cycle at reduced speed.
