FIELD: foundry practice. SUBSTANCE: mold has a sprue with closing plug. After filling the mold with alloy steel, e.g. 20X2HDT grade, the metal is held for crystallization of surface layer, then plug is removed and non-solidified metal flows out through sprue into ladle. After one more holding, the sprue is closed with plug and mold is filled with ordinary steel, e.g. Ct 3L. EFFECT: improved design. 4 cl, 3 dwg
