FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: coolant is fed to a passage having outlet openings axes of which are perpendicular to cooling surface of an inter-valve cross- piece. Outer face of the outlet openings is located at a distance of 4-6 diameters of the opening from cooling surface of the inter-valve cross-piece. Diameter of the opening does not exceed width of a cooling space in the zone of the inter-valve cross-piece. EFFECT: intensified heat exchange as result of high turbulence in a region of jet spreading. 2 dwg
