FIELD: machining. SUBSTANCE: method involves series forming of teeth by variable through height teeth of knurls and calibration of the gear rim by intermittent rolling of partially coincident gear rim sectors by calibrating sectors of the knurls per the number of knurl revolutions. The total length of calibrated sections of the gear rim reoverlapped by each knurl per one revolution is equal or larger than the length of the gear rim of a machinable wheel without the number of teeth of the calibrated section of the knurl. EFFECT: improved quality. 3 dwg
