FIELD: continuous drawing. SUBSTANCE: method includes resistance butt welding, trimming and thermal treatment of joint section from point of butt towards direction of opposite to direction of drawing. Thermal treatment is effected by reducing heating temperature over length not less than distance from die to point of contact of wire with drum of drawing machine. Steel-copper wire is subjected to thermal treatment within temperature range of 800-400 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 dwg
