FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: charger has three-phase bridge rectifier with controlled rectifier valves in cathode group. Anode group of rectifier bridge is shunted by circuit of discharge and supplementary thyristors connected in series which point of connection is negative output terminal. Cathode group of bridge is shunted by discharge thyristor. Positive output terminal of bridge is connected through diode with cathode group of rectifier bridge coupled through smoothing choke with other diode and discharge thyristor. EFFECT: provision for charging of storage batteries with increased densities of current with alternation with discharge pulses of high amplitude and little duration. 3 cl, 3 dwg
