METHOD OF STUDYING FUNCTIONAL STATUS OF BIOLOGICAL TEST OBJECT AND APPARATUS FOR EFFECTING SAME Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: measurements of complex resistances offered by biological test object by known methods and devices were taken with the aim of evaluating functional status of biological test objects. Specifically, measurements were made of components of complex resistance consisting of resistive and capacitive components of bipole resistance. Bipole offered resistance in region between electrodes applied to biological test object and resistance parameters were by and large measured for it, but principle of distribution of bipole resistance components relative to certain frame of reference remains unknown. Object of this invention consists in finding points of balance where resistive or/and capacitive components of biological test object impedance are equal with respect to plane of symmetry which is made up by system with two symmetrically positioned electrodes applied to biological test object. Electrodes must be applied to biological test object in such a manner that plane of symmetry of biological test object be in coincidence with plant of symmetry of system of electrodes applied to biological test object. Plane of symmetry made up in similar fashion and symmetrically disposed electrodes constitute frame of reference relative to which is measured distribution of components of resistance arising between electrodes with the view to assessing extent of asymmetry of such distribution. In special case one will have not to define all distribution curves, but solely points of balance in which bipole resistance components are equal. Combination of these points permits plotting electric structure chart which reflects functional status of biological test object.
