METHOD FOR TREATING DISSEMINATED SCLEROSIS Russian patent published in 1994 - IPC

Abstract RU 2016568 C1

FIELD: medicine. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in perorally administering comminuted fibrous carbon sorbent impregnated by immunity stimulating sodium nucleinate or methyluracil of vitamin B12 into patients suffering from acute multiple sclerosis accompanied by pronounced immunity deficiency, both primary and that provoked by intake of enormous doses of immunodepressants. Disclosed method prescribes administering sorbent per os in amount of 50 to 100 mg per 1 kg of patient's body mass 3 or 4 times a day at food intake intervals during 2 to 3 weeks. EFFECT: this method allows scaling up effectiveness of treatment by accelerating regression of neurologic disorders, reducing daily dose of medicine, curtailing entire course of treatment of patients suffering from exacerbation of disseminated sclerosis aggravated by pronounced immunity deficiency, eliminating complications caused by intake of large doses of immunity depressants, and rapid correction of cellular and humoral immunity for shorter period of patient's stay in hospital. 1 tbl
