FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: frequency of supply single-phase voltage is converted by commutation of currents of motor in following sequence: during first half-cycle current of one direction is fed to first lead of motor and of reverse direction - to third lead. During next half-cycle direction of currents fed to first and third leads is changed. In following half-cycle direction of currents fed to second and third leads is changed again and further on again in same sequence. In this case frequency of formed three-phase voltage is equal to 2/3 of that of supply network. For reversing specified order of commutation is changed for opposite one. EFFECT: improved efficiency and reliability of method. 3 dwg
