FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: converter has a power take- off device, a heater and a cooler partially filled with gas and a working body connected by working body feed and return pipelines and positioned so as to locate the cooler above the heater. The return pipeline has a check valve. The inlet end of the feed pipeline is located in the heater areaway, and the outlet end of the feed pipeline is located in the cooler above the maximum available level of the working body. The converter additionally has a hydraulic turbine mounted in the manifold of the return pipeline. The heater is made sectional, each section is isolated from the other ones and has its own feed pipeline and a power take-off device connected to the section by a pipeline with a valve. The section feed pipelines are circumferentially located to form a return pipeline manifold in the center, the manifold is connected to each section by branch pipes with a check valve. EFFECT: improved structure. 3 dwg
