FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: high-pressure gaseous-discharge lamp is essentially discharge tube placed in envelope and having main electrodes at its ends, starting circuit connected in parallel to discharge tube that has parallel-connected glow-discharge starter, register, and breaker. Starting electrode located on external surface of discharge tube is connected to one of main electrodes. Starter lead provided with V-shaped bimetal strip is connected to other main electrode of discharge tube. Novelty in lamp is that glow-discharge starter lead having V-shaped bimetal strip and starting electrode are connected to opposing main electrodes of discharge tube. EFFECT: reduced starting voltage and facilitated manufacture. 2 dwg
