FIELD: concentration of minerals. SUBSTANCE: hydrocyclone has cylindrical-conical housing 1 with inlet branch pipe 2, drain branch pipe 3 for discharging clarified liquid. Branch pipe 3 is connected through transition chamber 4 having optimized shape with cylindrical chamber by hydraulic gate 5 provided with slit-type branch pipe for supplying control flow of liquid and removable calibrated diaphragms. Hydrocyclone is further provided with sand packing 8 for discharge of concentrated product. Transition chamber 4 is defined by convex-concave surfaces. Chamber sections perpendicular to housing vertical axis has equal areas. Basic suspension is delivered through branch pipe 2 to form rotating flow. Large and heavy particles are thrown to housing wall and discharged through sand packing 8. Light particles are carried away through branch pipe 3, transition chamber 4 and hydraulic gate 5. Coarse and fine adjustment of hydraulic gate resistance is provided by means of diaphragms and by varying flow rate through slit-type branch pipe. Optimized shape of chamber 4 allows hydraulic resistance of device to be basically varied by slightly changing rate of control flow. EFFECT: wider operational capabilities and enhanced reliability in operation. 2 dwg
