FIELD: coal mining. SUBSTANCE: method includes driving of haulage and vent drifts in seam along the strike and formation of line of breakage face on-dip with inclination to gob. Before driving drifts, subject to determination are direction of jointing in coal and enclosing rocks and sizes of relief zones at vent and haulage drifts. This is followed by formation of breakage face line across the strike of jointing. In so doing, through-cuts are formed within boundaries of relief zones with angle of joint of lower through-cut with haulage drift equal to, or less than, the angle of coal natural slope.
