FIELD: manufacture of heat-insulating fibrous products, for example lining fragments of heat-producing plants with service temperatures up to 1400 C. SUBSTANCE: method involves preparing hydraulic mass containing refractory fibers and binder, successive evacuation of layers at vacuum of 0.045-0.85 MPa for 5-50 s. Evacuation of each layer is followed by its prepressing at 0.5-1.5 MPa, and heat treatment. Manufactured products have an apparent density of 250-600 kg/cu.m, bending strength of 0.19-0.41 N/sq.mm, heat conductivity 0.13-0.16 W/m.k at 600 C. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
