FIELD: ferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: regenerator has dam wall on side of slag chamber and regenerative chamber which consists of above-checker space, checker and under-checker space bounded by side walls. Provided in top portion of checker and in dam wall are lateral passages which are brought in communication with longitudinal grooves in the checker; depth of longitudinal grooves of the checker and lateral passages of dam wall is equal to 0.15 to 0.20 of the checker height and their total width is equal to 0.25 to 0.30 of the checker width. Lateral sections of dam wall in passages are provided with bevel at an angle of 25 to 30 deg. relative to side walls of the regenerative chamber. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 3 dwg
