SUBSTANCE: device comprises a transmitter having a graduated disc, light sources, sensitive elements, amplifiers, a comparator unit for comparing actual and preset shaft speeds, matching flip-flops, a start flip-flop, an inhibiting flip-flop, matching elements, shaper of ignition pulses for carburetor engines or injection pulses for diesel engines, a pulse frequency divider unit, a switch, a time interval switch, recording units and an additional recording unit. The novelty lies in the provision of pulse frequency divider unit, switch and additional recording unit which are connected to one another and to other elements of the device. EFFECT: simpler measurement of the mean cycle speed of the engine crankshaft and simpler device as a whole. 3 dwg
