FIELD: pulse technique. SUBSTANCE: method involves shaping of sawtooth signal, comparison of input analog signal with boundary values of sawtooth signal, comparison of data signal with sawtooth signal, generation of output pulse-width modulated pulse trains according to comparison results. To improve conversion linearity, additional data signal is generated by multiple sequential decrease or increase of input analog signal by value equal to peak-to-peak sawtooth signal. When input analog signal becomes higher or lower than upper or lower boundary value of sawtooth signal, respectively, sawtooth signal phase is inverted at moments when input analog signal increases or decreases. Leading and trailing edges of output pulse trains are shaped sequentially according to results of comparison of input analog signal and increasing or decreasing beams of sawtooth signal. Device for multichannel pulse-width conversion of analog signal has clock generator, counter, sawtooth-signal generator, comparator, decoder, analog signal converter.
