FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding leading end of strip, cutting and lashing it round onto winder drum. Leading end of strip is initially fed along curvilinear guide, which is then shifted so that space is formed. Then strip is fold in two and lashed round onto winding drum with subsequent cutting of leading end. Apparatus has winding drum 3 with lashing member 4, feeding guide 1 and curvilinear guide 2 which is mounted for rotation about its center of curvature. Front edge of curvilinear guide 2, which adhesive to guide 1 at the initial moment, is made with sharpened end. EFFECT: increased efficiency and enhanced reliability in operation. 3 cl, 1 dwg
