FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: working surface of radial and thrust bearings has at least six bearing surfaces with definite dimension entry faces to facilitate formation of carrying oil wedges. High rigidity of unit is provided both by reduced axial and radial clearances in bearings. First is provided by use of resilient system acting onto spindle axially to press it to rigid end face of bearing and second, by setting small clearances. Supply of bearings with lubricating material delivered at low pressure and in small amounts is provided by conveying lubricant from delivery to return channels practically only through bearing surfaces of bearings, as alternating channels of indicated specifications are closed at side of channels and spaces of opposite specification. Constant working clearance in bearings is provided by material used for manufacture of bearings which should feature higher linear expansion coefficient than material of spindle. EFFECT: enlarged operating capabilities. 5 cl, 5 dwg
