FIELD: chemistry. SUBSTANCE: essence of this method resides in that steam and foul-smelling matter separated from hot black sulfate liquor at cooling latter in evaporating cyclone are admixed with cellulose suspension and oxidizer at stage of oxygen-alkali delignification of unbleached cellulose or oxygen-alkali delignification with addition of hydrogen peroxide or oxidative alkalization of chlorinated cellulose stock. EFFECT: lower rate of consumption of steam both for neutralizing foul-smelling matter and bleaching cellulose, high degree of decontamination of foul-smelling matter by oxidation to nontoxic and nonvolatile oxygen derivatives of sulfur. 2 tbl
