FIELD: computer technology. SUBSTANCE: device has to be functional component of converters and may be used in automatics and analog-digital computers. Device is based upon principle of approximation of initial function by three sections; the first one is linear and two others are non-linear. Character of approximation of one dependence is defined by value of coefficient, which is equal to relation of modules of signal which has maximal value to module of signal with minimal value. Device has two module selecting units, amplitude selector, division unit, two controlled voltage dividers, two-level comparator, three-input controlled switch and controlled adder.
