FIELD: sampling of rocks from well walls for geophysical investigation. SUBSTANCE: lowered into preset interval of well is device for lateral coring, section of sampling is sealed, mud cake is removed and fluid is filtered from device space into formation. Core is drilled out with flushing and pressure in space of core sampler is registered. When pressure is lower than formation pressure, fluid flows from formation into drill bit space to improve cleaning of crown bit and drilling zone of cuttings and core. When fluid flows from formation, core forming process is discontinued. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 2 cl, 2 dwg
