FIELD: shipbuilding. SUBSTANCE: stern tube assembly has stern tube which receives stern tube shaft provided with lining in the bearings in form of bronze sleeves. Rigidly secured on stern tube are two flexible members made in form of duplex bellows whose interior is brought in communication with pressure working medium (oil) supply system through the pipe lines. Flexible members are rigidly secured on the hull tube mounted in the aft bulkhead. Mounted on the inner surface of the hull tube are active radial magnetic bearings and limiting rings with bearing travel induction pickups. Taper members corresponding to each other are located on end surfaces of stern tube and hull tube. Flexible diaphragm is mounted between end surfaces of stern tube and hull tube facing the propeller. Mounted in the stern tube after the fore bearing is stern tube stuffing box which has pressure bush received by the stern tube and pressed to it by means of studs. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 8 dwg
