FIELD: production of aliphatic unsaturated acids. SUBSTANCE: method for production of acrylic acid is carried out by vapor-phase oxidation of acrolein with oxygen-containing gas in the presence of catalyst with empirical formula Mo12VbWcCudXeYfOg where X is an element of the group including zirconium, titanium and cerium; Y is and alkaline-earth element of the group including Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba; b= 1-8; c= 0.5-10; d= 0.5-6; e= 0.3-8; f- 0-2.5. In this case g<90; 2,0<Cu+X≅ 10,0 and 0,25≅ Cu/X≅ 6,0. Process is carried out at temperature of 200-330 C with volume velocity of 1000-5000 cm-1. Said catalyst contains titanium, zirconium and cerium produced, respectively, of porous titanium dioxide in form of anatase with average particle diameter of 0.4-0.7 micron and specific surface to BET of 10-60 m2/g; zirconium oxide with average particle diameter of 0.01-1.0 mm and specific surface to BET of 5-150 m2/g and cerium oxide with average particle diameter of 0.1-2.0 mm and specific surface to BET of 50-200 m2/g. Yield of acrylic acid amounts approximately to 95.6% and service life of catalyst is 4000 h. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 5 cl, 5 tbl
