FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: power supply source has controlled rectifier with basic thyristor unit and system of control over its thyristors, thyristor key which cathode is connected to positive lead-out of load and which anode is linked to first lead-out of reactor and is supplemented with thyristor short-circuiting switch and system for control over key thyristors and short-circuiting switch. Anodes of thyristors of key and of short-circuiting switch are tied together and are coupled to first lead-out of rectifier and cathode of thyristor of short-circuiting switch is connected to second lead-out of reactor, second lead-out of rectifier and negative lead-out of load. Rectifier of source is supplemented with unit of thyristors which first electrodes are tied together in pairs in each arm of rectifier with opposite electrodes of thyristors of its basic unit. Their second electrodes are ties together to form third lead-out of rectifier linked to positive lead-out of load. EFFECT: simplified design, enhanced reliability and expanded application field of power supply source. 3 cl, 3 dwg
