FIELD: plastic working of metals. SUBSTANCE: method involves billeting ingot and drawing in three stages. At the first stage a portion of ingot is reduced to intermediate size, at the second stage remaining undeformed portion of ingot is subjected to reduction to intermediate size, at the third stage billet is reduced to forging size. Ingot is drawn in the direction extending from discard head to bottom portion. At the first stage outer portion with the length equal to 0.55-0.65 of ingot length is subjected to reduction, with relative deformation degree being within the range of 30-35%. EFFECT: high quality of forging and increased efficiency of method. 2 dwg
