FIELD: automatic control of cutting speed. SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring actual cutting force and length, determining probable monotonous changes in cutting depth, the coefficient correcting for the materials of workpiece and cutting tool, tool geometry and composition of lubricant-coolant as well as the design value of cutting force. Next step is to set the current value of tool wear and to shape the cutting speed control signal by the exponential dependence of the difference between the measured and design cutting forces and the product of the more precisely defined cutting parameters with their exponential coefficients. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
