FIELD: material testing. SUBSTANCE: method for testing resistance of asphalt concrete to atmospheric effect consists in that asphalt concrete specimens-bars (4x4x16 cm) are placed into apparatus of artificial weather in form of package and held for a preset time. Package should have three layers and each layer contains central and side specimens. The number of central specimens in a layer is multiple of three. In package, bars of group "a" correspond to upper layer of asphalt concrete pavement; bars of group "b" correspond to lower layer, and bars of group "c" are side buffer ones for tested. Number of bars of groups "a" and "b" is taken to test at least three specimens for determination of physical-mechanical parameters of asphalt concrete. Parameters of bars of group "a" are indicative of resistance to atmospheric effect of asphalt concrete found in upper layer of pavement and parameters of group "b" characterize resistance of asphalt concrete to atmospheric effect of lower layer of pavement. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
