FIELD: foundry practice. SUBSTANCE: the core grinding unit comprises an inverted portal frame with a table secured to its base which gives support to inside and outside posts interposed wherebetween are stationary and moving rods of a cooling conveyor. Fitted at the top of portal frame is a plate carrying rotatable spring-biased blades of the quick-release type. The cooling conveyor feeds the cores stepwise to the grinding unit and takes them further to a fixed intermediate station wherefrom the cores are transported either to the moulding area or into a buffer storage. EFFECT: streamlining of production, especially during the mass manufacture of, e.g., cores of heating radiators. 2 cl, 9 dwg
