GONDOLA CAR HATCH COVER LOCKING DEVICE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: railway transport. SUBSTANCE: locking device is mounted on lower binder of gondola car body and it has hinge-connected bar 1, rigidly secured frame 6 with slots in its ends, detent 7 and locking member 9. Detent in form of square-section rod is arranged in frame slots for rotation and translational movement and it has cavity with step on one of flats. Locking member is made in form of flexible plate installed for engagement with step of cavity when detent is closed. One end of plate is rigidly secured on one of frame sides, and other end is freely fitted on frame opposite side for travel. Detent is pressed to frame by simple and reliable member, a flexible plate, with subsequent stopping when bar 1 is closed. With detent being turned, plate executes short-time flexible displacement, and stresses built in plate are below plate material proportional limit. Slots on ends of frame are of simple round form.
