FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: converter includes transformers 1, 2 and valve bridges 12-15 which input leads are connected to secondary windings of corresponding transformers. Primary windings 3, 4 of both transformers are star-connected, secondary windings 8, 9 transformer 1 are star-and delta-connected, secondary windings 10, 11 of transformer 2 are connected in delta with extended lags and mutually opposite alternation of phases. Ratio of number of turns of leg 19 (21) of its extension 20 (22) is chosen so as to obtain shift of system of line voltages across output of each of these windings by angle of plus or minus seven and a half degrees as compared with system of corresponding voltages of star-connection of winding.
