FIELD: analog-to-digital conversion. SUBSTANCE: displacement-to-code converter has uniformly quantized code element 1, reading-out elements 2,3 shifted one relatively the other for 1/4 quantization step, D flip-flop 4 and reversible counter 5. RS flip-flop 6, OR gate 7, EXCLUSIVE-OR gate 8, leading and trailing edge pulse formers 9 and 10 are brought into the converter additionally. Inputs of formers 9 and 10 are connected to outputs of elements 2 and 3, and their outputs are connected with the first-and the second inputs of OR gate and R- and S- inputs of RS flip-flop 6 correspondingly. Reading-out elements 2 and 3 may be shifted one relatively the other for any distance which is not multiple to half quantization step.
