FIELD: measurement technology. SUBSTANCE: method involves generation of low-frequency component A(t) and radio-pulse component B(t)sinB(t)sinωt comprising test signal, where B(t) is radio-pulse component envelope; t is time; ω is angular velocity; generation of test signal in the form of Uo(t) = A(t)+B(t)sinωt,, and in addition, generation of measurement signals Uk(t) = A(t)+B(t)sinωt+kπ/2, k ∈ 1,3,; test signals are passed through channel and instant values of each of four test signals are measured at channel output and, using these values, envelope phase value of radio-pulse carrier frequency component is found from equations ϕ = arctg(Usinnorm/Ucosnorm), (1), ϕ = arctg(Ucosnorm/Usinnorm) (2), where equation (1) is used at Ucosnorm, other than zero and at Ucosnorm equal to zero, equation (2) is used. To improve measurement accuracy by reducing test signal sampling error, equation (1) is used for determining envelope phase at /Ucosnorm/ higher than /Usinnorm/ and equation (2) at /Ucosnorm/ lower than /Usinnorm/,; phase envelope values are measured at typical points and unknown value is determined.
