FIELD: machining of metals in hard-to-reach places. SUBSTANCE: positioned in body 3 are the kinematic chains of main motion - rotation of spindle 4 and feed chain. Central gear - wheels 45, 46 of planetary gearing 42 of the feed chain are kinematically coupled with friction clutch 27, and friction clutch 10 located between gear - wheels 17 and 9 extends in the main motion chain. Gear-wheel 17 through wheel 25 coupled with the feed chain, and gear-wheel 9 through wheel 49 - with central wheel 46 of planetary gearing 42. When the tool cutting edges grow dull, the forward force is constant, equal to that adjusted by clutch 27, and the feed value decreases, i. e. the torque decreases; and the machine tool is not overloaded. At a restraint of the tool, for example, at edge cutting or pitting of its teeth the torque on spindle 4 and respectively in the main motion chain increases, as a result, clutch 10 slips and head 2 with the tool moves aside.
