FIELD: packaging of cylindrical articles. SUBSTANCE: method involves forming cotton strip and dividing it into sections of predetermined weight; winding cotton strip sections into roll; wrapping rolls into one or two layers of packaging paper dispensed from paper tape roll so that package is obtained; closing package ends by bending package paper portions extending beyond package ends onto these ends; glueing package and glueing paper disks onto sealed ends of package; drying package simultaneously with glueing paper disks. Device has cotton tape forming unit; unit for dividing cotton tape into sections of predetermined weight; unit for winding sections of cotton tape into rolls, unit for feeding and cutting packaging paper, with cutting unit being provided with roll wrapping unit, package end closing unit with impellers, package glueing unit, unit for glueing paper disks to sealed ends of package, drying unit and conveyor 9. Paper tape feeding unit, disk cutter, glue application unit for applying glue to paper disks, heating unit and unit for separating paper disks from paper tapes are disposed at both sides of conveyor 9. All units mentioned are kinematically connected with unit for wrapping cotton tape section roll with paper. This unit has three supporting rollers and ejection roller, with rollers mentioned being made driven and rubberized.
