AIR CLEANER FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

FIELD: manufacture of engines; cleaning of air in internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: air cleaner has housing 1 with inlet axial branch pipe 2 and outlet radial branch pipe 3, filter element 4, monocyclone 5, air ionizer 6. Filter element 4 is made in form of three holders 7, 8 and 9. Cup- shaped holder 7 is provided with rods 10 made of electrets and mounted on perforated base; holder 8 is made in form of stacks of plastic threads on whose surface electrets with unlike charges are applied which are alternating in way of air motion. Holder 9 is made in form of stack of plastic truncated pyramids whose interior is filled with polarized fabric laid in form of belows with longitudinal corrugations positioned in way of air motion. Air cleaner is provided with spherical screened electrode 11. Bottom of housing 1 acts as receiving electrode and is coated with layer of insulator 12. Electrodes are connected with one of windings of generator 16 through step-up transformer 5 and voltage multiplier. EFFECT: enhanced reliability. 5 cl, 3 dwg
