CONTROLLED NOZZLE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE Russian patent published in 1995 - IPC

Abstract RU 2029129 C1

FIELD: engine engineering. SUBSTANCE: fuel is fed to under- needle space 11 through passage 2 and, if pressure in the space reaches initial injection pressure, cutting-off needle 10 together with rod 4 and armature 7 overcomes effort of force spring 3 and lifts resulting in flowing fuel to nozzle opening 9. The armature is made up as a disk made of nonmagnetic material and interacts with rod 4 through stop 5. In lifting the needle, contacts of pickup 12 is interconnected and electrical signal from the pickup is fed to control unit 14 which consists of capacitor accumulator, thyristor, and unit for thyristor opening. As the result, a current puls is fed to electromagnet coil 6. Magnetic field is created in the coil. The field passes through armature 7 and Foucault currents are induced in it. The currents, in turn, create magnetic field which repels armature 7 from electromagnet coil 6. The armature moves, effects on rod 4 and needle 10 through stop 5 and moves the needle down to the seat of sprayer 8. The fuel injection is cut off. After passing the current puls through the electromagnetic coil, interaction of magnet field of the coil with the armature stops, needle lifts again under the action of fuel pressure, and injection of fuel to the engine goes on. When fuel supply to passage 2 is cut off, needle 10 is set on the seat under the action of force spring 3 resulting in cutting off of fuel flow to nozzle openings 9. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency. cl, dwg
