FIELD: mechanical engineering. SUBSTANCE: gear toothing is provided with a separating surface which passes through the body of each tooth over its length, is made over the whole width of the rim, and is an extension of the tooth space. The method includes following operations. A blank made up of a involute of the gear toothing is preliminary produced. The slot is then made in the body of each tooth over its length. The groove is extended on the blank surface which is opposite to the teeth. After that the blank obtained is bent in the direction of slot couplings and is squeezed. EFFECT: expanded functional capabilities and longevity. 2 cl, 4 dwg
