FIELD: fan engineering. SUBSTANCE: method involves rotating a working wheel of axial fan at a constant angular velocity, smoothly increasing rotational frequency of aerodynamic vibroexciter after tuning working wheel blades, to a resonance oscillation frequency, monitoring oscillation amplitude of plates of the aerodynamic vibroexciter on the base of a signal from a strain-gauge mounted on one of the plates, recording rotation angles of the working wheel and aerodynamic exciter relative to the fixture points of rotation angle sensors at the moments of reaching maximum value of a signal AC component and determining the number of resonating blade from the measured angles.
