FIELD: electrical engineering. SUBSTANCE: stepping electric motor is intended for discrete electric drives. It includes magnetic core 2 made of U-shaped rods 3 with pole pieces 4 on their ends on which ring magnet 5 borders. Locating arm 6 coaxial to it provides for specified starting position of toothed rotor 10 with de-energized coils 7. Edges of teeth of pole pieces 4 on opposite ends of rods 3 are displaced with reference to planes passing through axis of rotor 10 one of which is parallel to axes of rods 3 and the other one is perpendicular to them by 1/4 tooth pitch of rotor over circumference of working gap. Thanks to complex simultaneous action of two coils rotor stops and remains in fixed position even after termination of current pulse.
