FIELD: means for protection of respiratory organs. SUBSTANCE: respirator comprises successively-connected face portion 1, carbon dioxide absorber 2, breathing bag 4, buffer container 5 and oxygen generator 3. The buffer container accommodates tensioning member 23 interacting with tension-type valve 25 disposed outside the breathing bag . Tension-type valve 25 communicates with the atmosphere and oxygen generator through return valve 28. The apparatus functions on the pendulum breathing principle. On starting, the breathing circuit of the apparatus contains a breathing mixture with a required concentration of oxygen; later, the delivery of oxygen into the breathing circuit from generator 3 is set by adjusting device in accordance with the oxygen demand for breathing. If the oxygen delivery and consumption become unbalanced, the surplus oxygen is discharged into the atmosphere through tension-type valve 25. The latter is opened by the tension member 23 interacting with the breathing bag. EFFECT: higher comfort of breathing achieved by maintaining oxygen concentration in breathing mixture at physiologically acceptable minimum. 1 dwg
