SUBSTANCE: method for correcting distortions involves generation of additional and auxiliary signals on sending end simultaneously with full television color signal, their transmission at color-signal subcarrier, as well as discrimination of additional signal on receiving end and generation of correcting signals. Distortion correcting device has on sending end additional-signal subcarrier generator 1, low-frequency filter 2 to whose input brightness signal is applied, frame delay unit 4, difference-signal shaping unit 5, additional-signal shaper 6, reflex-modulated signal shaper 7, additional-signal subcarrier modulating unit 8, control unit 9, and frame delay unit 10; on receiving end, it has frame time decoder 11, two band filters 12, 13, series-connected single-sideband signal shaper 14, adding unit 15 for two single-sideband signals, phase shifting unit 16, series-connected frame delay unit 17, single-sideband signal shaper 18, adding unit 19 for two single-sideband signals, signal discriminating unit 20, correcting signal shaper 21, and twice-frequency generator 22.
