FIELD: powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: press mold has working chamber defined by lower dies 1 and 2 and filled with metal powder, with metal disk- shaped ring 11 being put from top. Upper and lower parts of press mold are brought together. Pressure transmitted through upper punch 7 and lower punch 5 facilitates pressing of metal powder onto ring 11. Dies 1 and 2,3 and 4 are tightly pressed to ring 11 to define cavities, where straps are formed. Upon completion of molding process, when it only remains to compact the pressed-on layer (with punches 5 and 7 not reaching ultimate position by 0.5 mm of punch stroke), pushers 12 and 14 are actuated to release spring- loaded dies 1 and 2, 3 and 4 and, consequently, straps 13 from sides. As a result stressed straps of ring 11 are immediately expanded. Upon obtaining required sizes and density of straps, loading is released from punches 5 and 7, which are thus separated from ring 11 and straps 13. Ready product loosely lying on dies 1 and 2 is removed. EFFECT: high quality of product and enhanced reliability in operation of press mold. 1 dwg
