FIELD: welding. SUBSTANCE: housing of the device contains a welding torch, a bar and a thread bush interacting with the nut mounted on the bar. A clutch spring-loaded relative to the thread bush is mounted on the bar for axial displacement. One of the half-couplings has profiled notches on its face and is hinged by tractions with the torch. The second half-coupling is made pivoted and has a tooth interacting with the notches by the stated half of the coupling. The relative position of the half-couplings defines the slope of the torch to the bevel corners. The device belongs to the welding equipment for the arc butt welding of essential joints of items with a great width of bevel, for example, of joints of items designed for steam generators of atom installations.
