FIELD: manufacturing tapes and strips from powders of rubber, ceramics, graphite and polymers, preferably from fluoroplastic, polytetrafluoroethylene and its compounds. SUBSTANCE: initial powder is fed into a mold cavity defined by the molding members. Then the powder is intermittently transferred in a vertical direction concurrently with molding under a two-sided variable pressure accompanied by withdrawing air from the material. In the process the molding members are brought together in a horizontal direction at a velocity diminishing directly with the increase in the density of the tape material. EFFECT: higher quality of tapes caused by imparting a more homogeneous structure to the material. 2 dwg
